Hari Raya Eve Yam-Cha

Singapore is a multi-racial, multi-religion, multi-lingual, multi-this and multi-that country. We celebrate Chinese New Year, Malay New Year, Indian New Year and last but not least, Happy New Year. Yeah, as a racially integrated citizen, we purposely went to yam-cha on the eve of Hari Raya just to celebrate this festival - to promote racial harmony in Singapore and hopefully, spread back to Malaysia, the wonderful Bolehland. So nice we are, aren't we?

I always think that ice-cream is one of the most fabulous invention of mankind. Lovely, aren't they? A gentle kiss from ice-cream will melt your sorrows away and brighten up your day. It slips through your lips and smoothly lands on your tongue, reactions occur and the chemistry (biochemistry to be precise) is just so right. It's like, you accidentally bump into your long lost first love and feel that heart beat again - the bip bop bip bop kinda feeling.

Life is just so great.

*Event happend on the October 1, 2008.

Note:
*Since I always post out-dated entry, Iit'd be better for me to write down the event day for my own reference. It's my blog anyway.

DHL Balloon

Wikipedia
The DHL Balloon is a giant helium balloon, located on Tan Quee Lan Street in the Downtown Core of Singapore. Sited next to the New 7th Story Hotel and near Bugis MRT Station, the distinctive red and yellow commercial passenger balloon is the world's largest tethered helium balloon.

The balloon has been there since 2005 and going to be relocated back to France by the end of September 2008. For only $23, you'll get a breathtaking 360 degree panoramic view of the entire Singapore at a height of 150m. I thought it'd be a cool idea to try it before they close it down. So, I went there on the 20th, 10 days before they flatten the balloon.

Had lunch-cum-dinner at M.O.S and saw an interesting wall painting at Bugis Street. Look at the figure carefully, with her mouth placed on neck, shoe on head and a penis-look-alike nose.

There you are, the famous DHL balloon.

Unfortunately, that cursed balloon was closed for maintenance. For heaven's sake, I really don't understand why did they bother to maintain it only for another 10 freaking damned days. I wasn't the only disappointed visitors. The few people behind me in the picture came all the way from either KL or HK to try it out, poor things.

Toothie's Guide to Bake Sexy Moon Cakes

Yeah yeah, I know the 2008 Moon Cake Festival is long over, but it is always good to know how to bake moon cakes right?

First, push your favorite paste deep inside a handful of flour.
Massage it gently and roll it into a ball
.
Treat it nicely, wear a pair of clean gloves.
It's for your own safety and your sexy moon cake deserves massages done by sparkling hands.

Then, press it into a template forcefully.
Or else you'll get semi-retarded looking moon cake, we don't want that.
We are making SEXY moon cakes.

Give all the force you have.
Push, PUsh, PUSh, PUSH!!!

And pull out after that.
Pull, PUll, PULl, PULL!!

A Word from Dr. Mahathir Mohamad

The former premier of the Bolehland had commented on the United States not long ago at his blog. This is part of what he said, in which, I think it's quite or partially true.

3. It had condemned the Internal Security Act as unjust and a violation of human rights. Following the shock and awe invasion of Iraq, it has detained alleged terrorists without trial and without rights and habeas corpus proceeings. Some detainees have been there for five years.

4. Then in Abu Ghraib detention camp detainees have been tortured and humiliated. They were treated like animals. If it had happened in some weak Asian country, the US would demand for all kinds of punishment which the US is ever ready to inflict. But no one can drag Americans to court and punish them. If at all American courts would try these miscreants and the punishment would be very light.
True true. But still, ISA is NOT right for Malaysia today and detaining a blogger under ISA is even-more-not-right (I know it's very bad English, but sorry lah, my Engrand no good).

6. When as a result of the so-called trade in currencies the companies in the poor countries faced bankruptcy, the Governments were told not to bail out any company or bank which was in deep trouble. The Americans claimed that these companies or banks were inefficient and they should be allowed to go bankrupt and perish. Better still they should be sold at fire-sale price to American investors.

7. Yet today we see the US Government readying US700 billion to brazenly bail out banks, mortgage companies and insurance companies.

8. Where does the money come from? From thin air as no real money in cash or bullion or anything tangible are moved into the bankrupt banks. The money is just in the form of loan papers and entries in the books of the banks or companies.
LOL! I love point 7 - Americans are slapping their face hard this time.

11. In the final spasm of fear, the Government has given itself the right to resolve the problem of bankrupt banks and companies by the Government taking over i.e. the great capitalist country has accepted what is nothing more than nationalisation which it had condemned so much before.
Another big-tight-slap. AUCH

12. The US now owes the world US 14 trillion. There is no way it can ever settle this debt. If other countries fail to repay or service their debts, the US would demand that they be made bankrupt. Now the US is literally bankrupt but it still insists that the pieces of paper, the famous or infamous greenbacks have some value. It actually has no value. Certainly it cannot be used to finance wars of aggression against Iraq and Afghanistan, to finance the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) activities in undermining Governments and countries. But still the US' ability to threaten countries is undiminished.
They were slapped really hard this time.

So-long-ago Farewell Party

Yeap yeap, it's a long-ago-picture from Aug 22, 2008, but come on folks! I am a freaking busy man, you know! It was Rachael's farewell party after working in Singapore for two months - time really flies like flies huh?

Rachael, Regina and Zhi Rui
The Longbar is the birth place of Singapore Sling and first served in 1915. What is this Singapore-sling-around thing? The ingredients are gin, Cointreau, cherry brandy, Dom Benedictine, pineapple juice, Grenadine, Angoustura bitters and limes. However, I suggest having some beer before drinking the sling, or rather, try to mix a little of soda into the drink. It'll definitely taste better that way.
Yeap, we chilled out at the Long Bar, tried out Singapore Sling (the Long Bar invented it), eating peanuts, throwing peanuts shells anywhere you like and I love it :) What to do? After all, I am a Malaysian who like to throw rubbish everywhere and anywhere.

And we went to Zouk out after that...
Yeah yeah, I know I am very zombie that night...

All the best to you!

And Now He Barks

KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who is facing an opposition bid to seize power, said Wednesday he might step down before a planned handover to his deputy in mid-2010...

...There had been speculation that Najib and other figures in the ruling party were preparing to challenge Abdullah, whose popularity has tumbled due to a weakening economy and broken promises for reform...

...Abdullah on Wednesday delivered a warning to the opposition leader, accusing him of "lying to the public and confusing the people"...

..."He has become a threat to the economy and national security," he said -- a serious allegation in Malaysia, where the government can use draconian internal security laws to detain its opponents without trial...

..."I will not indicate what plan I will take, what I do will be in the best interests of the people and the country," Abdullah said when asked what action he was going to take...

...He also confirmed he would not agree to the opposition leader's request for a meeting to discuss a peaceful transition of power. "There is nothing to discuss," he said...

Annuar is a threat to the economy and national security and may be detained under ISA he said. Good show awaits, folks! Get your tickets and popcorn now!

N: When the hell is he going to hand over his chair to me?

The Whack-me-please Face

September 16, 2008 - a day where the opposition claims that they have sufficient MPs to topple the ruling government - is no issue or worries to our confident Prime Minister of Malaysia. =)
Come babe, come and slap me

source of picture: Channelnewsasia - Perhaps I am too sensitive, I noticed that Channelnewsasia always put Bodohwi's come-and-whack-me-please pictures in it's website.
